Cake Medovik
For the holidays or simply for the moments when you feel like something sweet, we remind you the recipe of the famous honey cake – Medovik.

Ingredient list
For the dough you will need:
- half a kg of flour
- 150 g of honey and as much sugar
- a grated teaspoon of baking soda
- 2 eggs
- 100 g of butter
For the cream:
- 800 g of cream over 20%
- 140 g of powdered sugar
- a teaspoon of lemon juice and a teaspoon of vanilla essence
Preparation:
Add the butter, sugar and honey to a bowl and mix over a steam bath until melted. Then add the baking soda and mix until a fluffy, light-colored mixture is obtained. Then add an egg and mix until absorbed together. Leave the mixture for a while, then add the flour, and when you can no longer mix, put the dough on the table and start kneading.
Divide the dough into 10 equal pieces, cover them with foil and leave them in the fridge for 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, place baking paper on the table and form the cake with a round lid. Drill the cake with a fork in a few places. Bake the first cake at 200 degrees for 8-10 minutes, and the rest for 4-5 minutes. Cut the sheets once more and keep the cut pieces.
Leave the sheets to cool. For decoration, mix the remaining pieces of cake with walnuts. Then, in another bowl, mix for 1 minute, the cream with the vanilla essence and gradually integrate the powdered sugar. The result should be a fluffy and dense cream.
Grease a plate with the cream obtained and arrange the first sheet, add on it 2 tablespoons of cream. Repeat the process with the rest of the sheets, but make sure you have a few tablespoons of cream left, with which you will spread the cake around. On all sides of the cake add the mixture of nuts and pieces of cake. Refrigerate the cake for 7 hours.
